Replace Shower Booster Pump

This is a relatively straightforward job to do. First of all a new replacement pump must be purchased before any work is done to make sure you have the unit to replace the one you are about to remove. It is good practice not to disconnect or remove a piece of equipment unless you have the correct replacement to hand. Chingford Plumbers provide first class knowledge and skills.The electrical supply to the shower must be isolated:1). Isolate the water supply ensuring that it is completely off. The connections can be capped should there be a need to use the water supply in the house.2). If available open the drain cock to release any water from the pump pipework. If not prepare for a little water discharge as you disconnect the pipework. The connections are usually flexible with push fit or compression joints and the new unit should be the same making reconnection straightforward. 3). Unbolt the old pump from its base and disconnect from its power supply. It is recommended that you use a voltmeter to ensure that no electrical feed is present even though it is isolated (trust your testers). Once disconnected remove the old pump and replace with the new in reverse order of removal. A Chingford Plumber will carry out work in accordance with current Regulations.3). Turn the water supply back on and check all the pipework for any leaks that may occur.4). Plug the new pump into its supply point. You must ensure that during this process that a great amount of care must be taken not to damage the plastic water connections on the replacement unit with heat from any soldering procedure that needs to be done. Also make sure that cross threading of the connection does not occur.
